6月5日（日）、横浜の街は、新旧クルマイベントで盛りあがりました。朝9時半から、元町商店街では「ﾚｯﾄﾞﾌﾞﾙ・ｴﾅｼﾞｰﾌｫｰｼﾞｬﾊﾟﾝ」のタイトルのもと、Ｆ１トロロッソ・チームのＳ・ブエミがＦ１マシンのデモラン！！細く、狭く、路面の悪い元町商店街でほんの少しのデモランながら、午前７時前には大勢の観衆が集まり始め、走行開始の午前９時には、なんと１万人以上の大観衆。日本初のＦ１公道デモランは、500mを１往復、たった５分ほどのパフォーマンスでしたが、その大観衆の熱狂たるや、Ｆ１エンジンの轟音も圧倒するものでした。で、その興奮も醒めない、午後２時過ぎには横浜美術館に「ｼﾞｬﾊﾟﾝ・ﾋｽﾄﾘｯｸｶｰﾂｱｰ２０１１」がゴールしました。6月3日（金）に同じく横浜美術館をスタート、山梨、長野、静岡、神奈川の4県７５０Kmを3日間にわたり走破した55台余りのクラシックカー＋スーパーカーが次々と帰ってきました。先週のGiro di Karuizawaは生憎の雨と霧に祟られましたが、この週末は梅雨の晴れ間に恵まれ、どの車もピカピカに輝いてゴールランプに飛び込んできました。Rally Nipponでご一緒している三重からトヨタ２０００ＧＴで参加のＭ先生ご夫妻も無事にゴール。大会会長のＳさんご夫妻のポルシェ３５６Ａカブリオレ、堺正章さんのフィアット8Vザガートなど、クラシックカーラリー常連の方々に最新スーパーカーまでが加わり、老若男女、小さな子供たちの歓声と拍手に迎えられていました。つかの間の梅雨の晴れ間でしたが、横浜は、クルマファンの熱気に包まれた週末となりました。
On June 5th (Sun), the city of Yokohama had two big events, one for new cars, one for classic cars. At 9.30h, Forumla 1 driver Sebastian Buemi of Toro Rosso drove a formula 1 machine down the Motomachi arcade as part of the "Red Bull Energy for Japan" event. As the road surface was not ideal, the distance run was very short, but a huge crowd started gathering from before 7am and by 9am, the crowd had become over 10,000 people. It was a short 1 min 500m run, but the crowd went wild as they were able to listen to the sound of a real F1 engine. Then on to Yokohama Museum where the Japan Historic Car Tour 2011 goaled at 14.00h. 55 cars started off on 3rd June from the same museum, drove thru Yamanashi, Nagano, Shizuoka, Kanagawa for 3 days and 750km. Giro di Karuizawa last weekend had been continuous rain due to the rainy season, but the lucky entrants for this rally had not seen any rain and they came thru the goal all shiny and clean. It was good to see Dr. M from Mie who I had gotten to know at Rally Nippon, drive in on their Toyota 2000GT. The Porsche 356A Cabriolet driven by the race master, famous M Sakai's Fiat 8V Zagato and other famous super cars came thru the finish line to the awaiting welcoming crowd.
